Movement Restoration Specialist and Founder of Brickman Movement

Ben Brickman is a Movement Restoration Specialist and architect of the Brickman Movement Protocol. He guides people on their movement journeys from his facility in Menands, NY.

Growing up in Albany, NY, Ben’s foundation in discipline and resilience was shaped early through his service in the United States Marine Corps (2009-2013), which included two deployments to Afghanistan. After returning home, he pursued a degree in Business Administration but quickly discovered that his true calling was helping people move better and live stronger.

Ben's History

Ben began his Movement Restoration Journey following his time in the United States Marine Corps. Rigorous training and two deployments to Afghanistan left him with a series of minor injuries which snowballed into big injuries. This was at odds with his goal to play professional football as he was frequently sidelined by recurring injuries. Unsatisfied with the rehabilitative knowledge available, Ben began a quest for knowledge in how to restore his movement. This personal journey led him to study Health and Exercise Science. Not satisfied with the standard curriculum, Ben researched movement authorities from wide ranging fields and integrated them into what would become the Brickman Movement Protocol.

As Ben researched causes and resolutions to his frequent pain and injuries, he transferred to Syracuse University in 2017 to continue his education in exercise science. Not content with just being a student, he walked onto their Division 1 football team that spring and was with them for their 2017 and 2018 campaigns.

Certifications

After attaining his FMS Level 1 and 2 certifications and the YBT (Mobility Balance Test) certification, Ben launched Brickman Performance in 2017, focusing on strength and conditioning. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science in May 2019 and became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA later that year.

Ben was preparing for a Canadian Football League (CFL) tryout in March 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic shut down travel and canceled all events. Seeing how the sedentary lifestyle was impacting functional movement and our nation’s health as a whole inspired Ben to shift focus and launch Worksite Fitness in 2022 at the Menands Riverview Center. For four years, he created personalized programs to correct posture, restore natural movement, and support the body’s ability to heal and thrive.

In January of 2026, Ben launched Brickman Movement. It is there that Ben guides his clients on their Movement Restoration journeys with the Brickman Movement Protocol, the culmination of 11 years of experience in the field of restorative movement.

Ben’s approach blends deep anatomical knowledge with a hands-on, personalized method to correct posture, rebuild mobility, and reignite the body’s natural ability to heal and thrive. Through the Brickman Movement Protocol - applied both in and out of the gym - his clients continue this process by restoring mobility, building strength and stability, and retraining their bodies for long-term, pain-free performance. The result is a stronger, more functional body that moves well and performs better at any age or fitness level.

“Ben is fantastic. He has so much knowledge of nutrition, metabolism, diet and exercise and shares many tips that can help you achieve your goals. He adapts to fit the needs of the participants and is always upbeat and willing to help you on your path to fitness.”
